Questions
Questions builders ask
If yours isn't here, call your coordinator or send it with the form.
How much does pre-slab treatment cost?
It depends on the slab's footprint and edge length, the foundation type, how many lots are on one booking and how easy the site is to reach. We quote per lot, in writing, once we have seen the plan. We don't quote a price by phone. The pricing page lists everything that moves the number.
What happens if it rains before the pour?
Heavy rain, a washed-out edge or a pour that slips past the treatment window can disturb treated soil. We look at the lot, retreat what was disturbed and write down the new date. The retreat terms are on your proposal, so you know them before the first lot.
Does a treatment record guarantee anything?
No. A record shows what was applied, where and when, so your inspector, lender or title company can see it. Any retreat terms are written on your proposal, not on the record.
Can you treat after the slab is poured?
We can treat the outside edge of the foundation and around penetrations after the pour. The soil under a slab can only be treated before concrete goes down, which is why we book to your pour date.
Does my superintendent need to be on site?
Not for the treatment. We need access, plumbing in, the forms set and the grade ready. Your coordinator calls when a crew is on the way and sends the treatment ticket when we leave.
Can one booking cover a whole phase?
Yes. Send a list of lots. Each lot gets its own treatment date and its own record, and you still have one coordinator for the whole list.
What do you use, and is it safe for buyers and pets?
We can't call any treatment safe. Licensed applicators follow the product label, keep each product to the areas the label allows and can give you the product list and label for any lot. Buyers' questions come to your coordinator, who answers from the label.
Do you handle general pest calls?
No. We treat the ground for new construction and inspect finished houses for builders and their buyers. For ants, roaches or rodents, a general pest company is the right call.
What paperwork do you need from us?
The lot and subdivision, the foundation type and the pour date. For your vendor file we send our license copy, certificate of insurance and a W-9 on request.
